By the time we finish Elementary School we would have gone to school for 1,080 full school days. However the future kids will be in school for less. The reason is that from 2010 all Kindergarteners in NJ and many other places have to go to school for half days everyday. Either nine to twelve or twelve to three. As most people put it, that in Kindergarten you only learn the basics like counting, ABC’s and many more. Well maybe you do only learn the basics but that doesn’t mean you cant cut Kindergarten to half days. Without help from you Kindergarten teacher you wouldn’t know half the things you know today. On a recent survey I took online four out of four people said that Kindergarten helped then out later on life. Kindergarten is the starting of your education . Maybe it might not be as important as any of the other grades but it is the only grade that teaches you how to move on in your everyday life. Half day Kindergarten will but the kids under pressure. The teachers will have to turn a one day lesson into two days. Parents will be worried about their child’s transportation.
Kindergarteners are little infants who are just starting their education. As we all know, little kids take things very seriously. If they didn’t finish their class work in class, its like the end of the world. It takes a little longer for them to understand the whole process of work. Making them having to learn things in a shorter period of time will but them under stress and it will take even longer for them to learn. On a survey 100% of the people said that Half day Kindergarten will affect what they are learning. All thought many people think that half day kindergarten is a good thing such as, the little kids will have more time to enjoy their childhood. Well sure you should enjoy your childhood but instead you could enjoy it with other people in school not only at home with you family. Talking about putting them under stress for example, learning the ABC’s in Kindergarten is a very common thing. If the teacher made the Kindergarteners finish a packet of work and they didn’t finish then in school they would rush threw it so they wouldn’t have to do it at home. It would be like reading words but not understanding them. If there was full day Kindergarten they would have plenty of time to finish their work and they could still enjoy their childhood.
Teachers are the main source of education besides our loving parents. Without help from them, what would we have learned? Well in Kindergarten teachers are very nice, easy and outgoing. If they didn’t finish a lesson in a half day they could just finish it the next day . Well in half day kindergarten teachers are or already have been making lessons for two days instead of one day. If a teacher was teaching a lesson such as counting to ten and writing the number and time was up then she could finish it the next day but if there was full day Kindergarten this would be a big problem because you would have more time to learn and teach. Well if the teacher is deciding to finish a lesson the next day and she has another lesson planned for that day she would get busted because she would have to teach another lesson on the same day. Well for some teachers this would be a problem because they could teach fast and it might be easier. Well I truly believe that making a lesson into two day is better to do on a half day because then the Kindergarteners will actually learn something but that could lead to some consequences.
Now lets take a look at the nice parents who are willing to drop and pick up their child at certain times in the day. Without your parents how would you get home at 12:00 if you’re a Kindergartener? The would be no possible way because there would be no buses. With half day Kindergarten in the way many parents have to rearrange their work times so that their child could have a safe transportation to and from school. Well if there were full day Kindergarten then many parents wouldn’t have to worry. Some parents even come back form work and go back just so that their child could have a good education. Well for some parents its no big of a deal because they either don’t work or they have work on the same hours as their child.
Many of our favorite Elementary School grade was Kindergarten because we had nap time, coloring, play time and many more activities. Well in half day Kindergarten there is no lunch and many of those activities. Kindergarteners should really go to school for a full day because they will be stressed about work., the teachers will have to shorten or finish the lesson the next day and many of the parents would have to rearrange their work times for a safe transportation for their children.

Is Santa Claus real or is he just a myth?
As you all know that Christmas is coming up and the jolly old man will be visiting your house pretty soon. So get ready to bake some delicious cookies and leave them for Santa. Well do most families bake cookies for him? The answer is no! As the debate goes on the same question goes threw my head every Christmas season, is Santa Claus real or is he just a old myth?
Some families tell their children that Santa is just daddy dressed in Santa Claus clothing and others tell their children that the presents that are under our Christmas tree are from Santa. Do you really think that Santa will buy billion Christmas presents for all the children in the world? I don't know about you but i don't think so. Well maybe to the little kids Santa is real and has reindeer's who could fly to each and every ones houses to give them exactly what they want. Maybe he does live up in the north pole . Who knows?
Most infants grow up thinking that Santa is real. Every miracle that happens in the summer happened because Santa granted their early Christmas wishes. Well maybe it did. What clearly showed me that Santa isnt real is, when i was little, in the New Hampshire mall there was a Santa Claus who took pictures with you and you told him what you wanted for Christmas. Well as i was done and i was the last one in line i sow the most evilest thing any 5 year old would want to see. I sow santa claus gettin his FAKE mushtash off. I was wondering what santa claus was doing. It was Christmas eve and his job was to grant my wish but instead he was leaving to go enjoy his christmas eve and not make our wishes come true. Then i realized that he wasnt real he was just some stranger.
To some little kids Santa is real but to me i just think that he is a myth. Well maybe he does listen to your wishes and grant them once in a while but i truely belive that he is just a myth. Christmas is the time of year to enjoy. When we were little we belived in santa claus but now some of us dont. Instead for ruining the holiday season of the little kids we should just enjoy and have fun.

Letter to Santa
Christmas is the time of year where people make wishes and they come true. It’s the time of the year of joy. Kids like me make wishes and you grant them and make them come true. You brighten thousands or maybe even millions of children's Christmas mornings with delightful Christmas presents under the Christmas tree. I sure know that you brighten my Christmas morning. Well this year for Christmas I would like a Dell 10.1 Inspiron Mini 1012 Netbook PC which is a mini laptop.
I currently have a hp wide screen laptop. The reason why I want the Dell 10.1 is because my hp laptop has major issues. There are many threats and it is at low risk. There are many viruses and its extremely slow. Also, because of my hp laptop, the viruses went into my usb stick and every time I try to save something on the usb stick it doesn't save or sometimes it doesn't even open on other computers. Also there are to many files on my hp laptop because its a family laptop and everyone uses it, so every time I have a new document it doesn't save unless if I delete another file. If I had the Dell 10.1 I wouldn't have to worry about it not saving any files and it would be my own so I could do anything I wanted to do.The Dell 10.1 is a way better laptop then the hp laptop.
Santa, I think I really deserve the Dell 10.1. My parents said I could get a new laptop if I got all A’s on my report card. I tried my best to achieve that goal and I did it. Yet, I still didn't get one so it would be nice if you gave it to me as a present for Christmas. Not only will I be satisfied but my parents will be to. They could renew the whole hp laptop without worrying about my school homework being saved on it. Having a new laptop would intensely help me be a more organized person.
Even if you might be really busy on the Christmas days trying to deliver the Christmas presents to each and every kid on this planet, I think my request will not only help me but it will be a great Christmas present. It’s okay if you cant grant my wish this year but please try to do so. I understand that there is only one of you and millions of us kids. Thanks for all of the other presents you gave to me every year.
Sincerely,
Bijal Patel

Thanksgiving
What is thanksgiving? Its not just a holiday where you meet other family members and not go to school but it is the holiday to thank our friends and family for what they have done to us. Well do you know the history behind thanksgiving? It all starter like this. The pilgrims shared their crops with the Native Americans because the colonist taught them to hunt and crop vegetables. They grew their crops and shared the food with them. They had a big feast. Without the help from the colonist, most of the Pilgrims wouldn't have survived the harsh winter. When the dinner table is filled with scrumptious foods like turkey, mashed patatos and many more it all brings back the history of the first thanksgiving and how the pilgrims were being thankful to the colonists.

What am I thankful for?
There are too many things to be thankful for. Family are like friends and that is what I'm thankful for. I’m thankful for my dad because he is always there for me and he is a extremely funny person. I’m thankful for my mom because she is an helpful person and she encourages me to do better. Lastly I’m thankful for my grandparents because they are there always there whenever my parents aren't home. I'm extremely thankful for the people who are there for me and cheer me on.

Trick-or-treat
Going trick-or-treating is one of the best things about Halloween. Around my old neighborhood everyone started trick-or-treating at 5:00. My friends and i would start at 6:00 and end at 10:00. We started all the the complexes and finish at the end. My the time our pillow cases are full, we are exhausted. Every year we had a lot of fun but this year i don't know where I'm going to trick-or-treat because i just moved into a new house. I'm planing to go to my old complex because they give out LOTS of candy and all my friends live near by but in my new complex i don't know a lot of people.I'm looking forward of having fun trick-or-treating this year.Although I don't know what I'm going to be for Halloween this year. One thing that makes Halloween fun is ding dong ditching peoples house even if it isn't mischief night. I still remember, when i was in first grade my friends, Sneh,Hemani,Parthi and I would go to this house that we thought nobody lived in and we would ring the doorbell and the old lady would open to door after a little while and by the time she got to the door with the candy we would be gone. We did this every year until she finally opened the door.

Does patriotism still matter?
Does patriotism still matter? Of course it does! Without patriotism our world wouldn’t be the same. There would be on freedom; freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press and many more. Although, many people have forgotten the true meaning of patriotism. It’s the love for ones country. We should thank all the veterans, armies and militarise that sacrificed their lives for our countries freedom.
There is freedom on our earth and everyone should be thankful for it. Day by day night by night the world around us changes. Thanks to the veterans, armies and militarise our world is a safe place for us to live. Even though soldiers all over the world are fighting for their countries freedom, and we don’t agree with them, we should still think that they are trying to make the world a better place for them. Just like in the Revolutionary war, we didn’t think that it was fair that the British were ruling us so we fought for our rights and the world is a better place than it was a long time ago. Well, let’s think about who fought for us. The armies and soldiers did right? We should be extremely thankful for that or else our world would be a lot different right now.
When I hear of the word patriotism, I think of the flag, soldiers, the colors red white and blue, a better world and many more things. Why do I think of these words? I think of them because it reminds me of our united nation, how patriotism made us a united nation and how it made our world free. All the people in the world deserve patriotism and people should keep it in their mind so the next time they are being miss treated they think about all the others who fight for us. Patriotism mattered years ago and it will still matter today and tomorrow.

Ralph Fletcher
Ralph Fletcher is an amazing author. In this book, When I was a Kid, he writes about his childhood and some stories he remembers when he was a kid. Some parts were very emotional and others made you smile.
In his vignette, Bobby, he writes, "He was a real good baby and a terrific brother. Not a day goes by that I don't miss him".(Fletcher,2005,Page 60). That part just makes you want to break into tears. It is very emotional .He express his feelings and shares something very emotional.
In another one of his vignettes, First Pen, he writes,"What words were unhidden-unborn, unwritten-in all that used ink?'.(Fletcher,2005, Page.44).I liked this sentence because it was unusual. Many authors or people don't use this kind of language in their writing
I think that Ralph Fletcher is an amazing writer and I hope to read more of his books.=)

My teddy bear
As a 1 year old how much knowledge do you think I had? A ton. Well I just moved into my new house and my cousin from New Hampshire came to see it. At that time I was only 1 and my cousin was 5. He was a trouble maker. He wanted to watch t.v and his parents wouldn't let him so he started to cry and he held a tantrum. So then finally his parents took him upstairs and turned on the t.v for him. He started to watch Dora. I loved Dora so since I heard the theam song I realized that he was watching it. My parents were eating so I slowly crawled to the stairs and started to climb because I wanted to watch. I took my teddy bear with me because I loved it. When I finally reached the last stair and I crawled to the room he was in. I tried to sit on the bed but I was to short to reach it. I kept on trying and trying and pretty soon I gave up so I sat on the ground and tried to watch. After 30 minutes of the fantastic show my cousin turned off the T.V and he ran down stairs. I was still exhausted from all the climbing so i waited for about 10 minutes and then I headed down stairs. I was good at going up the stairs but not coming down. I sat on one stair and then went to the another. I had 7 more steps to go when I missed a step and went flying across the stairs. I threw my teddy bear because I lost balance. Luckily my head landed on it. My parents heard a thump so they came running . They found out that I fell down because the whole time I was coming down the stairs my cousin was watching me and he didn't eve bother to help me. He told my parents and then from that day on until I was 4 they put a gate so I wouldn't go up the stairs ever again by myself. With out my teddy bear who knows what would have happened to me?

Horrifing Hobo
Last year in the summer of 2009 I went to Africa. One day my dads friends brothers daugter and I were walking home from the supermarket. It was only 5 minutes away from her house. On our way back we were talking and talking until we heard a person screming on the top of their lungs" I'll get you" I turned around and it seemed like it was a hobo running bare feet. He had a sharp stick in his hand. I got so scared. My heart started pumping blood so fast. Me and Urusha( my dads friends daugter) started running and the hobo guy ran after us..=[

All about HHMS
Herbert Hoover Middle School is an awesome school. Its just like all the other middle schools in Edison. You have 7 periods throughout the day, math, science, social studies, 2 periods of english, gym and your language or elective. Sixth graders have lunch after their 3rd period. Middle school is really different from elementary school. You have to change in gym in front of people, you have to go class to class and teacher to teacher and you get your own locker. It seems like a hard task for me to open my locker. One day I can open it and the next day I cant. After your last period of the day, the hardest part of the day is getting to your bus. You have to push and shove threw the 7th and 8th graders to get on to your bus or else your never make it home.
